What's your source for this, lol? Malicious players are always going to join the server.

Our server isn't actively moderated 24/7. Sure, it might be fine to say "let's unblock it and just punish as stuff happens" in some cases, but not in the case in which a player can easily load and paste schematics to crash players, or worse, the server. Especially when, even to an active staff member, seeing someone innocently pasting schematics (unless they're named servercrasher.schem which they might not be) is not an immediate red flag.
So yeah, it's better to just.. not let people create easy crash chunks.

Should've gone to Specsavers
Forum sanction incoming
Our entire tourism industry is based off us building an unsinkable ship that sank.
↩ videogamesm12 I would also like to add that the player used alts and continued to bypass on the same IP address.
petiluka (Ryan specified indefinite ban in his hub ban reason for this player)
Finn7902
He then changed his IP address and joined as russte and messaged me with "I am back" and thus was banned there from the network.
I'll edit evidence in later but I have got it.
So.. I'm not entirely the most reliable source to comment on this but here's my two cents.
The indefinite bans list is pretty much just a text page containing the answer to question 1 to the indefinite bans request for the player with a link to the request page on the forum. Presumably, although I haven't seen it myself, a players entry is completely deleted if and when an appeal is approved, as I don't see a list of IPs being indefinitely banned without an account tied to them.
But I'm also not entirely sure if the indefbans list that admins can see is just for log purposes or if the server actually uses that list to keep players banned on the server, so take that with a grain of salt.
But from a quick CTRL F of the list, there are ~170 banned players and around 800 banned IP addresses. 1 player has 22 IP addresses linked to his profile alone and I see several other people with 10+. Naming no names here though.
My best guess is that question 6 primarily exists as just a means to ensure that the player cannot be banned by any means, maybe a console /unban (IP) is done when removing the ban to ensure they're cleared out. I'm just speculating here with what I have.
Still, that begs the question of whether or not we should be pruning IP addresses or not, especially as the ban bypassing ones are almost always VPNs

Just feel this is relevant. Luckily he was spamming me and not an op, but still.

Quote↩ @'ErickpintoMC2021' You know who I can't apologize to?............James. Yes I'm talking to you James, you are the worst person in all of TotalFreedom EVER!!!! THAT'S WHAT I DO! I CHANGE MY USERNAME EVERY FUCKING YEAR!!!!!! THAT'S NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!! AND NOW YOU TRIED TO MAKE ME A CRIMINAL!!!!!!! UUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my reason for objecting. You were banned well over a full year ago and for some reason something about it is still pissing you off to that degree. If you're doing this on your ban appeal over something that happened a year ago, how are you going to act when something doesn't go your way on the server?
Your story isn't adding up since not once did this alleged hacker use your Adityarrr account, but rather used several different accounts to break rules (and admit to ban bypasses) on the same IP address you use. I got Ryan to ban the IP after I realised the IPs all matched up.
He got demoted for spreading mistruths about me.
↩ characterslimits Not entirely a valid argument, the reason why people want a toggle for the clownfish is because it sends you flying and can be loud and annoying.
Your IP address was used to spam and harrass several members of the community on multiple occasions. You also didn't use a VPN and logged onto the same IP at least 4 times.
So what I'm seeing here is that you fooled around and violated multiple rules on alternate accounts without realising our bans are IP based.
Its your IP address and your responsibility.

Its not fine, it's just not. There's one sentence that he actually wrote himself, and it just contains him lying about how long ago it was with a little apology (when copying the ban request he would've seen the date posted - also worth noting lying about how time passes was a frequent issue)

Did you ever deal with this guy? I can assure you he can more than speak clearly and would have been more than able to actually bother to write his own ban appeal. He once spent well over an hour sending me threatening messages about how he would continue harrassing me until I unbanned him, and he knew enough swear words and insults to hurl at staff members who punished him or players who didn't do exactly what he wanted them to do.
Considering this guy was briefly on the server during the time I was most active, I spent a lot of time with him. He is more than capable of writing his own appeal himself and not pawning off my writing as his own.
I know that being annoying with the clownfish is punishable under 3c but I personally believe that we should prevent problems from occuring rather than sanctioning for them.
Vouch.
I have never actually seen someone plagiarise a ban appeal. I didn't think it was possible. The very fact you couldn't be bothered to use your own words and felt that this was an appropriate way to get your ban released is just an instant object from me, regardless of whether you edit this post to follow the correct format. You clearly haven't improved.
What will happen in terms of staff ranks - and is there a possibility of merging the chats so players on the plotworld aren't isolated from the rest of the server?
carrot sticks
yeah exactly, doesnt make sense right?
so does your ban appeal
