I honestly object because I don't believe having two instant messaging platforms is an efficient idea and the popularity of discord is definitely a marketing opportunity going forward. Everyone uses and is familiar with it.

Can you not just create a webhook or whatever it is to the server chat channel so it can send the server chat messages in your server?

The intrinsic idea behind this server and an idea that has seen many suggestions like this denied is that a player who joined this server 10 seconds ago and a player who joined this server 10 years ago should have the same access to the same commands and permissions. (excluding staff commands ofc)

Oh yeah forgot to add my vouch - the event host application doesn't test moderation abilities or ask for someone's competency with moderation commands. Its understandable, since they're not meant to be staff members.

We're giving people who may not be suitable staff members a command of a staff member.

I'm not a fan of this, selfishly because im just used to flarum. Won't be voting on this, but I just don't feel we should be uprooting things all the time. I accept reasons both ways.

Here's what I would do in this current situation if it was my decision to manage. Obligatory I'm not going to be doing this on the tf discord so don't worry Nick, this is just my thoughts.

If someone says in chat or otherwise that they are 12 years of age right now, I would obviously ban them. But I would have that ban expire a full year from today. If the person feels comfortable giving over some way to prove they've turned 13 within that time, they can do that and get unbanned then. But if they don't, the ban shouldn't last longer than a year as at that point the player cannot physically be under age anymore. (same applies to 11 and 10 but just 2 and 3 years)

I understand this is maybe leaning on the strict side of what others might want, but I believe we would still be doing our due diligence to the policy by ensuring players who were banned for being underage have surpassed being underage without making us have children hand over ID (Also - when I was 13 it would've been rather hard and awkward to get my hands on my birth certificate or passport from my parents. Especially if I needed them to send to someone online..)

Considering the banned discord account was deleted, Noah could have probably gotten away with just rejoining discord on his new account. Instead, he was honest with us and is getting punished for it.

↩  matscalle look - as I said twice in my post, the Wikipedia doesn't do a good job of explaining the shows format to someone whose never watched it. I know I was probably wrong, but do you mind telling me what the actual format is like?

From what I can gather, it is a quiz show set up like werewolf, mafia or amogus.

10 players, 9 of them are trying to earn money by getting correct answers while 1 player is trying to reduce the amount of money earned by getting incorrect answers.

The rest of the format is less clear to me by the Wikipedia article - it seems there's a series of questions about the mole to try and work out who they are before getting rid of the person with the most incorrect answers.

As a watcher of the show, have you a more in depth explanation? The article doesn't explain it very well.

↩ @'r00t' Unfortunately timezones make pleasing everyone very difficult. No matter what time an event is held its always going to be at the early hours of the morning for somebody.

If you'd like more events to be held at a time you find reasonable to yourself, I would encourage you to apply for event host.
