↩ resident_user I don't hate this person, we've had some nice convos in the past although we don't talk that much.
I just said that it gave me a nostalgia trip back to my edgier days. Sure it was a bit of a jab, but I had no ill will behind it. It's an extreme overreaction to accuse me of having an "unbridled hatred" and "throwing punches".
Quote↩ resident_user I have no doubt you will defend your replies if my post even gets published.
Yes.. because I disagree with your accusation. I made a light-hearted comment on a light-hearted post.

↩ @'wxtermelon' The suggestion is to add a question about Discord in the reinstatement application, asking if the user has an account.
Which is already a thing for admin applications, might I add, and we just approved an admin who at the time of his approval didn't have discord. It's quite clearly not mandatory.
To boil it down, this suggestion just makes it easier to re-add an admin whose reinstating if they're on the discord server.

↩ ThePyroManActualAccount well my above post explains my vote. It's a more sustainable gamemode in my opinion because it doesn't need a certain number of players to play it. If we emulated hypixel bedwars, you'd need 8 people to have a good game. With the current servers player counts, I think it's best to have a gamemode open to the fact that there will inevitably be only 1-2 players online at some points. I feel prison fits that bill, whilst bedwars doesn't.
Also prisons complete contrast to the idea of freedom makes it quite a funny concept that technically fits.

Ok so I'm a little embarrassed by just remembering today, but there is a /toggle minecarts command.
I have thought of a way using this command to try and reduce the chances of repeated minecart related attacks on the server. Unfortunately this will likely not affect any initial attack or attempt at crashing the server, but it will hopefully be a big part in ensuring the incidents are more isolated.
Once an attack has been made and sorted out, a staff member on the server will disable minecarts. This will prevent all sources of placing new minecarts, but will not affect the functionality of minecarts already placed. The disabling of the minecarts will hopefully last no longer than 60 minutes, before they are re-enabled again. Hopefully, this idea will reduce the number of repeated incidents - if the initial attacker jumped on an alt after their ban, they will find themselves unable to repeat the offence and will likely get bored and give up before too long. These folks are not known for patience. Staff members will be encouraged to use their own judgement as much as possible when it comes to the lengths of the toggle, but it should never be for too long.
I cannot comment on any of the development related suggestions raised in this thread, but right now this is currently the best I can come up with.

The thing about a mmorpg.. is that we can't offer that. The intrinsic idea of the game is built into the definition. Massive. These games need, at worst, a few hundred players playing on them. They'd preferably want a playerbase in the thousands.
This server even in its peak wouldn't have had the consistent playerbase needed to support an mmo experience. Nowadays an extra server would be doing very very well to have 10 players on during peak hours.
And it's for this reason as well that I believe prison is the best option from the two in the poll. On a good day, freedom-01 has 15 players. And that's currently the only server that new players have the option to join. (Not including the skyblock as it's not accessible via the hub) Meanwhile, a bedwars game according to hypixel requires at least 8 players. Now sure we can drop that to 6 or 4, but itll probably make the game less interesting. And doesn't change my point - there will be many points where a game of bedwars cannot actually be started. You have 3, 5 or 7 players waiting in some kind of lobby and doing nothing until someone else joins. But with prison, you can have one person playing by themselves. 2 people playing by themselves. It isn't a gamemode that requires a certain amount of players.
I'm not saying prison is this fantastic gamemode we so desperately need, but I think that anything we are adding in ways of new servers should be able to be played solo, since no matter how good it is, there's probably going to be many times when there's 1-2 players online. That's just the way this server is atm.

Objection, I was initially going to vouch but I haven't actually interacted with you enough to do so, and I'd say I'm active around the place.
Stuff like this is also... a little concerning. I don't know why he saw that and vouched. (This was in a separate and unrelated thread)

I feel like if you need to stay up all night to host an event, you should be reconsidering whether or not you actually have the time for it.

This gives me PTSD back to the days when I acted really edgy and satanic for no reason other than I thought I was cool.

Vouch.
I don't think as of yet, anyone has understood this suggestion. What is being suggested is to add a question asking for a reinstating admin's discord if possible. The main reason that I think this is a good suggestion is to make the verification process a little smoother and easier. Considering the flarum forum is only around 15 months old, this means that any admins who lost their admin status before that time for whatever reason will need to create a new forum account to reinstate. This obviously means that verification is more likely to be required, and discord is an easier option to do that. This actually has happened before. Furthermore, as has been said by others in this thread, it also makes re-adding them to their roles easier to do.
I don't see any reason to not add this? It won't take long to add in, won't take long to answer and will make life easier for both the reinstating admin and the EAO team.

In just under 6 months, the freedom-01-server-chat channel in the discord has reached discords maximum pinned messages limit of 50. For some reasons beyond our understanding discord won't let any channel have more than 50 pinned messages.
Now, here on TotalFreedom we love taking messages out of context and highlighting funny messages. I see plenty of requests from people asking mods to pin a message because it's funny or cool or whatever.
For these reasons, I believe adding the starboard bot to the server is a good shout. When a message is posted that people want to pin, they can react to it with a certain emote. If enough people react to it (the number can be fully customised using an easy to use control panel which can also exclude self voting), the message will be reposted by the bot in a separate channel.
This will make the message pinning feature more community driven, rather than restricted to the discord moderators which I believe is a good improvement. It's hard to abuse too and removing reactions from the original message is enough to delete it from the starboard channel.
So yeah, let me know what you lot think.

↩ @'Ryan' I have to admit I guessed that.

Alright so it turns out you've been in game for 3 hours today alone, so I'm going to go ahead and approve this.
Welcome back to the team! Feel free to ask any other admin if you need any help retraining.
-
Very passionate and driven towards doing what he can to help the server.

This is the ban reason, since discords ban management system was considered outdated in the stone age I've no idea who banned you or when you were banned.
-
There is no need for voting as the admin was removed for inactivity.
All you need is to have 3 hours of playtime over the next 7 days to be reinstated. I am not able to check this right now, but once plan is up I will check as soon as I hear.
