A minor change to the discord rules

  • @Ashaz#4944 most people don't understand the actual definition of NSFW which is in it's name: not safe for work. this would be gore, nudity, etc, but it's actual definition generally would be something to not show your employer/co-workers (hence the name): furry shitting on each other porn may not include nudity but it shows sexual tones.
if a person posted a naked guy but the entire mid-torso and leg region was censored, that would not be bad to show people on discord (god forbid we can't post fully censored people) however people posting very slim censoring/no censoring is (or atleast should be atm) against the rules
edit: i wouldn't rush to make a suggestion for everything because usually it's already been talked about/you are misunderstanding

  • It is not useful to discuss the meaning of "NSFW" because Discord has already done that for us:

    Quote

You must apply the NSFW label to channels if there is adult content in that channel. Any content that cannot be placed in an age-gated channel, such as avatars, server banners, and invite splashes, may not contain adult content.

Therefore, "NSFW" means "adult content", and we cannot deviate from that definition without breaking the Terms of Service. The only reason we have that rule on our Discord server is that it is a requirement passed down to us by Discord itself, so if it is really that controversial, we can just change it to "adult content".

  • I believe the rules are already fairly clear, and as none of our channels are marked for NSFW / Adult content, it would be a breach of discord T&C's for anyone to post anything deemed NSFW and I would expect the discord mod's to delete such content (Ticking the button to report it to discord) and ban the individual from the discord under section 1.A and 2.C of the Discord conduct policy.
