The internet is known to be unforgiving and ruthless. The Chris-Chan (sometimes referred to as CWC) rabbit hole is one of the most well-defined examples of this, where an autistic individual in Virginia was (over the course of 2 decades) relentlessly manipulated, harassed, bullied, and thoroughly documented by hundreds (if not thousands) of people with a spectrum of intentions. Coursed into doing unthinkable acts by truly sickening individuals, Chris went from a naive individual with a quirky personality and a terrible art style to a completely broken person with an absolutely shattered sense of reality (e.g. genuinely believing they are a godly figure and that a "dimensional merge" is imminent), unhealthy coping mechanisms, easily manipulative nature, and criminal charges for incest. It all started in the 1990s with the idea that a high school student formulated which combined Pikachu and Sonic the Hedghehog, which is the perfect cherry on top of the shit sundae.
The community surrounding Chris has devolved in an incredibly toxic fashion, with factions of all kinds (trolls, historians, etc) and plenty of Discord servers. It served as the foundation for what would become KiwiFarms, a forum that a lot of people know about these days for all the wrong reasons. There are entire guides on the wiki about how to navigate the rabbit hole safely, and quite frankly you should heed it. It is a community you never want to get yourself involved with, because the consequences could result in you having a dedicated thread on one of the most controversial and repulsive forums in recent times with pretty much every single piece of information one could find about you. It's one of those cases where you can look all you want, but for the love of god don't get involved yourself if you value your own sanity and safety.
I have been watching this rabbit hole for quite some time now, having first found out about them in a video by Fredrik Knudsen many years ago. It gets increasingly disturbing and fascinating as you go deeper, and yet that's part of what keeps a lot of people interested in this otherwise delusional and unhinged individual over the course of nearly 2 decades. I created this thread because while the situation is utterly disturbing and disgusting, it serves as a cautionary tale about what happens when you overshare, practice bad OPSEC, attack the mentally ill, not get help when you genuinely need it, fail to keep yourself in check, and otherwise allow the internet to get into your head.
