I found a denied suggestion where people discussed a possible IRC, Revolt, Matrix, Guilded, Telegram, or Snapchat group.

The other choices seem more modern and safer than IRC, and most support compact themes, so I think we can choose a more robust option if at all

I support this suggestion, if only for the memes.

And IRC is old af why the fuck would it be used.

The target audience for this is very small (only really for those discord banned/under 13) and I personally don't really see enough value in the idea for it to be worth adding another official chat thingy. Object for me.

From what I can see, if we were to integrate any form of additional communication channel, it would only be a matter of time until we ask for it to be integrated with the Minecraft server, or any other implemented community platforms including Discord. Not only is this added development and moderation work, it is also redundant when we (the vast majority of players) already has Discord itself to work with. I really don't think we need to divert our attention even more than we already have.

However, I don't think there is a restriction to starting your own set of community associated with TF on whatever platform you choose (just not officially under TF), which means that you are free to make whatever platform you wish and invite players there (again, just not officially). If you feel like this suggestion holds weight and there are other benefits that you have to demonstrate to prove your point, I, for one, welcome you to set up your own platform to convince us.
