Void World Suggestion - Dev Effort Debate

Why are we so insistent on defining worlds in TFM? If I'm reading the Paper source code correctly the "world-dir"/"universe"/"world-container" should just allow you to specify a directory for worlds and just drag and drop it into the defined world folder. If I was sane, that's what I'd make that option to. However, we're talking about Mojang, Spigot and PaperMC here, so that might not necessarily be the case.

you literally have file access

What am I supposed to do? There isn't a way to generate additional worlds without requiring development effort.

why dont you try using multiverse core and a void world generator
-
bruh? just generate another flatlands and //set 0 two corners of the world border. there you have it: void world.

No because it has to be connected and set up in the worst plugin known to minecraft servers

No need when you can literally create them in single player

there is a singleplayer mod for worldedit, why do you need to set up on multiplayer?

You can just generate a custom superflat world in singleplayer with no blocks. (If that hasn't changed again.)

Yeah, what's frustrating is that adding a world with literally nothing in it is impossible due to "development effort", when it'll take like two seconds for someone with read/write perms to drag in a world folder. Maybe I'm not seeing the full picture or something, but it is definitely pretty annoying.

Multiverse is lovely, when you don't know about the glaring vulnerabilities & it being practically unmaintained nowadays

The server, for some reason, won't load them. It would be nice if we could get Scissors to do that instead of relying on terrible plugins to do everything.

I'd prefer if you attempted to pr this to paper first because this is out of Scissors scope

You need a data pack to add a custom dimension in single player mode. I'm trying to understand how that works with servers.

This suggestion is to add a void world, which creation of does not require a datapack.

That's what I was talking about when I said you can make a custom superflat world. However, vanilla MC sets this as the "overworld" dimension. I still have to learn how to make it load additional dimensions other than world, nether and end.

Why would we even want an additional nether & end dimension?

Why would we even want an additional nether & end dimension?

The server has the normal dimensions:
- World
- World_nether
- World_the_end
The following dimensions are also loaded thanks to TFM:
- Adminworld
- Flatlands
- Masterbuilderworld
The following world is loaded by PlotSquared: plotworld
If we want void world to be loaded, we need one of the following:
- Additional code in TFM to make it load
- Wait for videogamesm12 to push its change to TFM to add world customisation in the plugin's config
- Add the insecure and unreliable Multiverse to the server
- Find a way with datapacks
