Change the reinstatement policy

  • Currently, from what I understand it looks like you need to be voted in if you resigned, but you are accepted automatically if you went inactive?

I’m not exactly sure how this makes sense but I suggest we flip this or make voting either mandatory or not.

  • Under Mark, resigning was seen as an aggressive way of relieving yourself of administrative duties, which, in hindsight, is pretty silly considering they are practically synonymous with each other on here.

Anyway, I don't see why you should be able to reinstate after going inactive and be entitled to your position back. If you go inactive you should haver to go through a voting process to get your rank back 🤷‍♂️

  • Vouch.

If an admin who went inactive half a decade ago, went inactive and got their role removed and then joins and plays on the server for 5 minutes or half an hour, under the current system they'd be given admin.

I think voting should be made mandatory and inactivity reinstatements not automatically accepted.

  • In my opinion, I feel like this should be a case-by-case basis. By default former administrators that have resigned or removed due to inactivity should not be required vouches to be reinstated. However, if the said administrator has a history of being repeately going inactive or resigning, then votes should be required.

  • I Vouch for a case-by-case basis since admins with a history of repeatedly deciding to leave and come back shouldn't expect to be able to get their status back without votes only to go inactive a month later without spending much time on the server.

  • Vouch for a case-by-case basis. All reinstatements are subjected to votes unless the EAO steps in and gives the requirement to pass (e.g. minimum activity on the server).
