Politics on the Forums

    hi, this is a forums meant for a sandbox game. why do we allow such political and controversial topics on a place where such does not belong? i personally think these should be discussed elsewhere, idc where, but this forums isnt the place.


    nobody cares if its "always been a thing." it should not be anymore is the issue. if someone were to find TF off the internet and join the forums and see such controversial topics happening they wouldn't be wanting to join.. this isn't a server for adults and wasn't made for adults so we have to start being more aware. this isn't a democratic server, this isn't an anarchy server, this isn't a political server. we should not allow such controversial topics on these forums or in any matter related to TF where it is available for public view.

    Let people talk about what they want. If someone doesn't want to participate in the political or other topic discussions, they do not have to… They can also choose to not click on those threads and read it.


    I think you'll find it very hard to find somewhere that doesn't at least mention ongoing political shit considering it… You know… Tends to affect everyone.


    (It'll only end up being talked about in-game or similar too if not here)

    Why do you think it necessary to ban controversial topics on the forum at all? Just don't click on the thread if you can't handle discussing it?


    I find it fun and challenging to discuss topics that I haven't always thought through myself.

    ↩  Shyrix yes, it affects people, but as i say again, this is a forums for a SANDBOX game and specifically for TotalFreedom. Curious people exist and if they see such controversial topics happening it is not good for the reputation of TF. Regardless, take it elsewhere, this isn't the place.

    Well that would take people's freedom of speech away but I mean I did get a post removed and a warning for making a android joke on a Iphone joke so yeah I don't know what to say about this

    ↩  Shyrix controversial topics are not always off topic. every controversial topic i've seen so far on these forums have usually never ended well or contained the best conversations and has people flaming each other. i said no controversial topics, not no off topic discussions.

    frankly the only reason i am still active on the forum is because of the monthly controversial debates that always occur. i enjoy reading peoples perspectives on subjects and sometimes even joining if i feel brave lmao

    say what you want about politics here. atleast the opinions you get are varied as akin to something like twitter lol

    we have a deep discussion board literally for this type of stuff. as long as debates are held there and do not turn into flame wars i dont see any reason to just get rid of any discussion about real world events

    I Object. It's not mandatory for you to read such political discussions if you wish to not see them. It's also called 'TotalFreedom' for a reason. As long as you aren't a dickbag, you should be allowed to have discussions on topics such as politics.


    You can always enable this if you wish to not see politics threads.
