prohibit the creative nocom exploit

  • i don't ordinarily believe in reducing player freedoms, but this exploit deliberately skirts around tptoggle. if the community were okay with player locations always being known, we would have unlimited access to gamemode spectator.

the nocom exploit refers to logging player coordinates regardless of others' tptoggle settings. there is an even newer unpatched version of the exploit which only works in creative mode, involving lecterns. whenever SexiestBot (and possibly LunasBot) are online, they are logging player coordinates, and the former is known to log them to a Discord server accessible to Allink's inner circle.

the suggestion is to prohibit any iteration of nocom.

if you have a build in the flatlands and you would like to keep its location a secret, i recommend moving it when no other players are online and then not visiting it for a while.

  • If you patch this, can you also patch admins bypassing tptoggle? I don't want those stinky admins getting their hands on my precious flatlands builds… I lose sleep over it, every night! Thinking that ginlang guy can get my epic base's coordinates whenever he pleases… absolutely sickening

  • Also, quick tip: This isn't a variety of the NoCom exploit popularized by popular anarchy server YouTuber, "FeetMC". It's a different exploit entirely.

  •   Michelangelo I'm pretty sure there's an approved suggestion to give ops to gmsp and I'm quite confident that Video may have actually already coded a way to get around the issues that led to spectator mode being blocked.

So this is already covered under rule 1 of the Community Guidelines. Anyone found to be doing this sort of stuff in the future may be subject to further sanctions.

Closing as approved given it's already a thing for the community.
