Get rid of lightning spawners

The spawners are made by spawn eggs, so until they are properly blocked, problems like this will continue to persist. Just tell an admin if one is online or if the spawners are not in a build, just destroy them yourself.

A patch has been put into Scissors to disable unnatural entities from being spawned in through spawners, but it has yet to be pushed to the server. Hopefully this will give us the legroom needed to properly allow mob spawners on the server in the future.

Object, the only way the lightning would cause trouble was if there were a lot of spawners near spawn which you could report independently. A good example of this enforcement is noteblocks, which can be annoying or possibly laggy but aren't blocked and instead the people who use them maliciously get punished.

This has been a thing on TF for years, hell I brought weird spawners to TF back in 2017 and I probably wasn't the first. They're harmless in small amounts and if a small number of entities are lagging you I'd recommend getting a better computer rather than blaming items and other users, or ask politely if they could move the spawners elsewhere if they're in a location that affects everyone. But in all honesty, years ago my crappy old Dell Inspiron 530 could handle a reasonable amount of spawners before it got laggy so shrug, that was with TNT minecart spawners which explode upon contact with the floor when dropped from a height

Getting a better computer doesn't apply here, especially with how unoptimized Minecraft is (even with Sodium!). I've lagged from empty spawners & spawners with lightning bolts on an RTX 3080 so it's not related to your computer's power. It's really down to the fact that Mojang never really intended you to get these sorts of entities inside of a spawner (hence why the lightning bolt is massive). This is why non-living entities are no longer allowed to be in spawners in the latest version of Scissors.

↩  Allink I highly doubt that you have lagged on an RTX 3080, not even with Mojang's abominable coding. If you have done, bloody hell there's got to be something wrong with your machine because I've NEVER in all the years I've been messing about with NBT have I caused myself to lag with empty spawners or lightning bolts unless I've started being a complete idiot and placed an absolute ton of them. You can say til you're blue in the face "getting a better computer doesn't apply here" but clearly if others aren't experiencing problems with lower end hardware then it's a problem with your machine in particular? For reference, my crappy old Inspiron 530 had a core 2 duo e8400, 4GB DDR2 800MHz and a Radeon HD 7470 at its best and spawners never treated my game like shit unless again, I acted like a moron and placed a ton of them.

Have you ever played 1.13+? If you had, you'd know even with performance optimizing mods the performance is abhorrent.

↩  Allink The last version I played on that computer was 1.16. I'm aware that 1.13+ is terribly optimised, but it's not badly optimised to the point where you literally can't use certain blocks like people here make out lmao

Yeah, well, it's obvious you haven't spent enough time in laggy servers.

Also, I misremembered my card as an RTX 3080. It's actually an RTX 3060, however that's not very different so you should be able to forgive me.

It should be noted that I've had similar experiences with only a few thousand blocks of signs with text on the same graphics card.

↩  Allink Mate it's only up to a few months ago I spent practically every day gaming so don't try telling me about "laggy" things lol. The RTX 3060 is VERY different to a 3080 but I still wouldn't expect it to lag in Minecraft of all games, especially over a couple spawners.

It does. Maybe I configured something, but the point still stands that lightning spawners are more prone to lagging than any other type of spawner. If you read my message, I'm talking about laggy Minecraft servers and not other games.
