This has been open for a lot longer than I thought, sorry about that. I guess that's what the holiday season does to your perception of time. Unbanned.

As for how long these should be open: I don't like putting a hard deadline on them because there can sometimes be long-winded discussions that don't deserve to be cut short. I agree that it was a bit overkill in this instance.
