never used anything but 10

I'm honestly a rather average consumer in that I just use whatever I have in front of me and get used to it's shortcomings.

Windows 7 was the greatest of all. I do like windows 11 though, just gotta wait for the bug patches cause it fucking wiped my harddrive due to an error once

There is a difference between "Which version of Windows was the best?" and "Which version of Windows is the best?" You can't seriously use anything older than Windows 8.1 as a daily driver anymore because of all the hoops you have to jump through. People like Windows 10 because they use it every day and don't encounter major issues. Windows XP was excellent at the time, but it's not from this decade, and every time you see it in an embedded device nowadays, it shows.

• Windows 98 (Second Edition)
• Windows 2000
• Windows XP
• Windows Vista (but only if the question was "Which iteration of Windows is the best?")
• Windows 7
• Windows 10 (Enterprise LTSB/LTSC)
