  • I need some fake fun facts to gaslight people. Preferably believable and something nobody would normally bother lying about.

    i'll start:
Atop Mt Everest is a cell tower and power outlet so that people can make calls and send pictures to others at the summit.
    one more for good measure
An uncontacted tribe in Subsaharan Africa was recently flown over and sighted using rudimentary firearms to hunt despite no documentation of European or even other African contact with the tribe and minimal local knowledge of their existence.

  • It is actually possible to induce seizures yourself with no prior medical conditions; simply take a bright flashing light, shine it directly into your eyes for about 10 seconds, then simply blink a few times and shake your head. Be careful not to shake your head too roughly though, as it could lead to more serious complications.

  • Sun Tzu’s ‘The Art of War’ is actually a sequel. It makes multiple references to the first book which was destroyed during the Battle Of Ker (circa 351 - 216 bce).

Multiple books detailing the life of García López de Cárdenas (One of the many men that were sent by the Spanish to explore modern day Arizona) have been found in various locations around the Grand Canyon. Many have suggested that there is more undiscovered documentation of the trip scattered around the rim of the canyon's cliffs.

There is a research facility located in central Antarctica that has been entirely buried. The base was built to be movable and consisted of buildings that could compact themselves and be towed to new locations. During a storm, the base was completely buried under tons of snow and, no longer movable, continues to operate as a fully functional facility at this location to this day.

Documentation has suggested that the ancient Finno-Ugric people had attempted to link north-east Russia and modern day Alaska with a man made land bridge. Dimensions similar to the great wall of china, the bridge's foundation was eventually worn by the waters below, causing the bridge to collapse. The project was abandoned after only 2 months of work.

  • In 1916, Karl Schwarzschild found a formula to calculate the size of a black hole, formally known as the event horizon. What not many people know is that when he tested his new formula, he found a theoretical limit to how large a black hole can be. He wrote that if a supermassive black hole would continue "eating" matter after reaching this limit, it would likely become unstable and collapse on itself. His calculations showed that this event would generate gravitational waves so large that our entire solar system would be torn apart, regardless of where in the universe the collapse occurred.

His results were dismissed by other scientists as "a science fiction tale" and they pointed out that such large black holes could never exist. Many of them were surprised when none other than Albert Einstein said he looked at Schwarzschild's results "with the utmost interest". Einstein was correct: after Schwarzschild's death, multiple black holes close to the limit were found. The currently largest known black hole, TON 618, is estimated to be at 99.7% of the limit and is still eating as we speak...
