↩ @'r00t' solution: linux
-
Linux with KDE is better than Windows 11, it’s way more customizable and consistent.
Use Linux! -
Still gonna use that over linux when the time comes when I need to update ¯_(ツ)_/¯ so don't care too much
-
oh god oh fuck
windows released yesterday
-
↩ @'r00t' yeah im honestly waiting for actual reception. so far it seems somewhat positive but thats going off twitter and not what people have said so far
-
My CPU isn’t supported so no upgrade for me any time soon
-
-
↩ @'dillon ' you can bypass the upgrade requirements
no reason to do that though. older versions are more stable -
im just waiting for windows 10 support to end so that i can live out the rest of my days in peace
-
↩ @'r00t' yeah but from what I’ve read you have to do a clean installation
-
↩ @'r00t' oh so they broke their good bad cycle, thats new
-
i dare to vouch even through this is not the topic where i need to vouch or object.

-

↩ @'r00t' did you mean: the forcing of more bloatware on people? internet explorer works perfectly well, and it's very lightweight, so i dont see a reason for microsoft edge to be preinstalled
Obviously bloatware is a problem and that issue existed on 8, 8.1 and 10 so its nothing new, but Microsoft has been deliberately making it harder for people to switch to other browsers; read more on that here.

can anyone guide me on "how to not forget you can downgrade to windows 7"
-
shittiest os i've ever seen, literally just windows 10 but worse and more bloated, and also more monopoly-ish (referring to how to change your default browser from edge to another one you have to manually set it for each file type, but for edge, it's just one click). can this world just move to linux distros already, thanks.
also the hardware requirements are stupid and linux can be 10x more secure on a fucking taiwan laptop from like 2008 (with selinux/apparmor, a decent firewall config, and also key pair authentication for remote access). another thing is that they are starting to claim to give you "privacy", as that's becoming more of a focus today, but in reality, they're just tracking you harder, unless you decompile that shitty operating system, violating the ToS and forcefully removing the trackers, somehow without breaking anything, and probably getting sued in the process, because all "fixed" versions of windows are very limited because of these stupid legal reasons. seriously, corporations are just unfixable and we need to move to FOSS, as proof of corps being unfixable, apple literally sends you to their marketing material that says 'we don't track you' when you click on their privacy policy link, which sounds very. fucking. illegal. the real privacy policy also says how they track you in a lot more detail, and literally proves said material false.
im just tired of corporations, i want to go to a future where there is no proprietary software, no monopolies, actually decent standards, and everything is FOSS
