Add an -s flag to /ro

  • Vouch. When cleaning up large areas we often need to do /ro multiple times which sends 3 lines of chat each time.

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.

  • Object. Use //replacenear instead - it gets logged in CoreProtect too.

I do support the idea of making /ro run //replacenear, but that is a whole other suggestion.

  •   man /ro is meant to be fast, and not logging to coreprotect isn't honestly that bad of an idea whether intentional or not. Its an admin only command that, at least my personal experience, has been generally used to get rid of tile entities or disruptive blocks that are causing a mess.

When I'm clearing a plot that has 100,000 chests on it, I'd like the chests to be removed as soon as possible so my computer doesn't explode, and there's also no point in logging an extra 100,000 entries to the already huge coreprotect logs for something which doesn't need to be logged.

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.

  • Is there any actually good reason for the silent flags? I personally have disliked the fact we have them at all, it feels like it's hiding for no good reason?

  • @'Ryan' with a maximum radius of 50, /ro often needs to be sent more than once. It sends 3 lines of chat to every single player online every time it is activated which can get very spammy.

  •   erin I just don't see why we should be hiding it...? Given /ro by default destroys those blocks around every online player, and if you didn't want to do that then it would make a lot more sense to use WorldEdit...?

  • @'Ryan' it's mostly used to destroy blocks near a particular player, the all players feature isn't really used at least from what I've seen. (I forgot it was the main feature until your reply)

I would rather not have a -s tag usable for anything but removing blocks near the person typing the command

  • While I still don't personally see silent flags as a good thing especially when we want to encourage transparency, I can see the benefits in this case. Approved, FS-439 raised.
