Allow MBs to use setblock

  • It has a feature to redirect end portals, which is nice since if only someone like UnderTails is online, he can just place it for you if no admins can. If anyone wants a tutorial on how to do it, i'll post it Server Builds & Maps later.

  • @zeseryu#1750 /setblock is a vanilla command, so we cannot disable any dangerous blocks or apply any anti-exploit measures to it.

Also, if this is just about end gateways, we can add a command that allows you to configure those without /setblock.

  • You can change most things that you would need to with worldedits //set, but either way, I have to object, it’s too risk to allow people to have /setblock due to its capabilities to easy set blocks with specific NBT data, allowing for a multitude of exploits and stuff that could break a lot of things

  • Any further thoughts from anyone?

  • As I said in my post above, I would definitely be in favor of adding a way to configure end gateways without requiring /setblock. Since the use case wasn't actually mentioned in this thread: end gateways can be used to teleport players who walk into them to fixed destination coordinates, essentially allowing you to create warp zones.

  • I'm going to decline this suggestion. I'm not convinced the risks are worth the limited benefits to the server. If people do want a dedicated command to re-direct end portals then I'd suggest that people raise a new suggestion for it, as there doesn't seem to be a great deal of support for that and I'm not sure therefore that it's worth the time & effort.
