Turn NetworkManager’s messaging feature off indefinitely

  • I think we all know why this post is made. Please for the love of god turn the /msg command off in NetworkManager and just use Essentials’s built in feature until it can work properly

  • Vouch only if it is implemented in a way that unlike the current Essentials built in feature, they don't show up in admin cspy

A fool's fool fools fools who foolishly accept the foolishness of a fool's fool.

  • Vouch. The Essentials format is much, much, much more intuitive and better looking.

When it worked on NetworkManager, it had a really ugly looking design that wasn't pleasant at all to look at. I guarantee that most messages would fit on one line instead of two or three if it weren't for the server prefixes.

However, the Essentials format is far more compact and nicer looking. Most messages fit on one line and will usually only require 2 lines in rare circumstances.

Remember: the point of /msg is to communicate information between two parties, not to look super fancy.

  • neutral, i fucking hate NM's messaging but i also realize at some point it'll be more essential down the line when more servers are made

wish there was a best of both worlds here

i fucking put everything into you and you stomped on it.

  • As I've said before, we won't be doing this.

  •   Fleek in my time on the server from personal experience I have seen cross server messaging used by a banned player to annoy the fuck out of me from hub more than I've seen it used for any other purpose.

  •   Luke it was on the thread just after nm was added.

In short we have network manager and it's designed to replace these things, that with the fact it allows the cross server messaging means it's what I want folks using and the essentials commands will be removed / blocked in the future.

  •   erin i think this is something important to note. theres no actual way to moderate NM messages or (to my knowledge) block people from messaging others and the likes and should be addressed i believe

i fucking put everything into you and you stomped on it.

  •   Tizz As far as I'm aware permissions work fine... If they don't then someone should report a bug.

  • If we're not going to disable it, I vote to remove the prefix that says what server the player is on. Yes, that makes it harder to find people, but the long text before the actual message is very impractical.

  •   StevenNL2000 easy to just change to "f-01" to at least make it simpler to read.

And allow to block certain servers or certain players or even have it so if you're banned from a server you can't message people who are on that server.
