change the discord rule

yes please for the love of fucking god even though i have never been warned or gotten any kind of sanction for this, this is the most ridicule i have ever witnessed in the discord server of this shithole

The discord rules are far from perfect, but nowhere in rule 1f does it say posting links isnt allowed.

@ThePyroManActualAccount#1333 why would nsfw links be allowed at all? its against the discord TOS and the thread clearly doesn't say that they'll be removed. its a suggestion for the rule to change because it somehow makes the discord mods thinks all links are bannable unless they link to a TF platform

This is on my radar, I agree we need to re-write and review the Discord rules to look to bring them better in line with the other platforms, but we won't be going as far as "Free for all as long as it's not against Discord TOS" because the entire server will be a massive mess pretty quickly.

I'll work with the Discord staff to come up with an initial proposal for the new rules which can be shared back here for feedback and further discussion if that works for people?

The rule is definitely too vague. Does an external image host link count as linking to an external third party? What if you're linking to someone's video on YouTube? What if you're linking to an archived post on another website?

So this has been approved. I've sent my first draft of the revised rules through to the discord staff team. Once we feel happy with it I will share it here to make sure there is nothing the community feel we've overlooked and so we can get feedback before the rules are enforced.
