(Inspired by another server)
We could use discord's built-in webhook feature to make a nicer chat to look at instead of the current method, which uses the TF Bot.
Example in the screenshot below (Note that each user wouldn't be it's own BOT Account, webhooks are just displayed as such)

Yeah, in theory this shouldn't be too hard to do, I do something similar in the social media feed channel on Discord through Microsoft Power Automate so it pulls the picture of the twitter and display name and populates that.

i dont think nickname support should be in this imo, some of us use that to identify people with unidentifiable nicks

Object if it’s not broken don't fix it. It looks perfectly fine now. I prefer the individual chat threads
vouch, however even though it looks nicer- it'll be a hell of a struggle to read as every other message by a player is a new spaced line.
a two-way conversation with this would appear to move faster in chat than it would with the current method, take that and add another 27-28 people to it.

im feeling more neutral on this, on one hand, this format makes it a bit easier to understand, but at the same time the current format looks pretty nice and has already been proven to work really well
Neutral, it looks better imo but I understand the practical advantage of a more compact style as of now.
For the people liking the chat because it is compact, I would like to remind you that discord has a compact mode under settings > appearance which would instead looks like this with the suggestion:

in my opinion it’s fine the way it is, and it would be confusing for me personally to alternate between seeing bots and discord accounts
and i like the whole chat being in one message and not it’s own thing.
@Folfy_Blue#17822 I think the main point is that the server chat moves faster than most channels, so it benefits much more from a compact appearance.
I've raised FS-280 to look into the detail of how to do this and to raise all of the tickets we will actually need to do this, because as videogamesm12 said in his reply there are questions around how we will handle things like the server system messages and such.
