I don’t know the full story about why this was disabled, but it’s a useful system and it would be great to have it back
so yeah /party

What’s the use?
@redeastwood#17324 you create a party and people can join it and you have a private chat with just them
Vouch
The party system in NetworkManager is similar to what you would see on a big minigame server, where you use it to stay together with your friends while you hop across games. If you are just looking for a way to create a private chat, it's definitely not the right tool for the job.

@StevenNL2000#17343 If splitting the worlds into separate servers will happen, the party system will be needed. Now if you're in adminworld or plotworld you can still read what's going on in flatlands etc.
@Tizz#17361 If you’re talking about being able to see chat from different servers, then that’s a different function altogether and is very very easily implemented.
Vouch! Tf definitely needs something like that.
yeah if someone hates doing /r or just divorcing the player they're married to just to talk with someone is stupid
/party would be great for this kind of stuff so i vouch
The NetworkManager party system includes the following by default
So if you're looking for temporary / short-term group chats between friends, this might not be the worst solution, especially if you don't want to just use the guild chat. It is as StevenNL2000 said designed more with mini-game type servers in mind, but again that might not be the end of the world when we start looking to split the servers out more so than they currently are.
Would appreciate some more feedback.
If https://forum.totalfreedom.me/d/1590-replace…r-friend-system is implemented network-wide, is it still useful to have this on top? It seems to me like they would serve pretty much the same purpose.
Object until more servers are added where this will be useful
Given I've not been able to find good reasons on here to re-disable it, I've turned it on. Folks should already have the right permissions, but if not we can investigate further.
