SMP - Anarchy

@FloatingRedFox#11982 We could just make new player more aware of the rules on our Freedom servers vs. our anarchy server.

I think an issue with an anarchy server is the rules we already have for the Freedom servers. Would it be fully anarchy where people are able to say literally whatever they want like other anarchy servers? If so, would admins on the Freedom servers be restricted from participating in behavior like that? An anarchy server would still be a TF platform.

As for the version, I’ve played on both 1.12 and 1.16 anarchy servers. I personally have preferred 1.12. I don’t know much about the development, but I’ve heard that maintaining 1.16 would be a lot harder. It makes sense, since there are a lot more features.

@fionn#12001 The issue is they won't be able to join on anything that is not 1.16.5 to the network without additional work was sort of my point. Not to mention Viaversion tends to cause stability issues that tend to happen when trying to bodge proticols, which is why we don't support it elsewhere on the network.

I'm not saying we can't do it, but it needs to be clear that actually in reality we will only want to end up targeting a single MC version anyway due to the way we would have to set the hubs and network settings up (I think, will do some further research to confirm that).

I want to warn you of looking at 2b2t too closely. Our server should always bring something unique to the table. 2b2t itself is always going to be a better 2b2t than any attempt at cloning it.

Why not just have a truly free-op anarchy server, like how TF was a decade ago?

@wild1145#12067 I was thinking more along the lines of this free-op anarchy server being a complete replacement for the SMP server. The idea of an SMP server never did fit in well with the concept of "Total Freedom" anyways.

@videogamesm12#12071 The "Total Freedom" name is something we're slowly moving away from. I don't want us to be limited to a single game type and is why I've even keen to add additional things for players to play on. There's no reason to remove smp to have something else that isn't even ready or fully conceived replace it when in reality we can add additional servers to the network whenever we feel like it.
