Why is /gchat (now /gsay) back?

  • what is with this fucking server and being so contradictory

We literally attempted to initiate a voteoff for the owner because he did something so similar to this

It fills me with absolute confidence that prior to deletion, there were 53 unapproved suggestions. Rather than actually fixing shit, the devs waste time adding commands that are potentially harmful and nobody asked for.

  • If it's "Back" then it was on the server when Seth tossed it... I've not touched any plugins and nobody else can...

  • I'm happy for this to be removed / blocked / otherwise.

Unless someone can give me a REALLY good reason we need this, I'd rather it not exist...

  • @wild1145#1143 Remove /gsay but not /gcmd - it is extremely useful to aid ops who don’t know a command. For example someone might ask how they trust someone to their plot, and I would use /gcmd and do it for them.

  • @redeastwood#1144 Yes, sorry I thought this thread was looking to remove / block / otherwise burn the /gsay or /gchat command. I agree /gcmd is a useful tool that actually has purpose...

  • @wild1145#1143 As far as I can tell, there is absolutely no good reason for it to exist. There are no circumstances where you'd ever need to send a message as another person.

Also, gcmd is very useful and so it should stay. I've used it to reset fly speeds when the server was lagging from people flying too fast, among other uses.

  • Bump, if Telesphoreo wants to be rude about this I'd rather it's done here rather than on the other unrelated thread

Telesphoreo#1319 sorry man I was too busy implementing backdoors in all the plugins

Not really a suitable response. Intentionally ignoring users and going out of your way to fail to provide a response only really proves it's for some shady purpose.

  • @Luke#1323 With all due respect how the fuck does he have some ulterior, "shady" motive when adding back a command that has been in TFM for years? lol? I don't agree with it being back but it's clearly not shady lmfao he probably just thought it would be a good idea to bring it back. It's not like the command was removed by a vote or something it was literally randomly removed by seth.

  • @elmon#1332 Why else would someone add a command to talk as other people then refuse to answer any questions regarding it?

  • @Luke#1335 Not because he had an ulterior motive lol. Please enlighten me as to what the shady motive here was? He wants to chat as OPs? Oh no please jail that man!

I'm just saying he probably didn't think it through no need to throw around ridiculous accusations...

  • It'll get removed when I remove a bunch of seth's others useless commands. i only added it back mainly because i fixed the wildcard exploit and thought i'd leave it in there beyond testing because i didnt see any real reason to keep it removed

  • It won't be permitted on the live server and if it does make it's way there by mistake or otherwise, we'll roll back the updates. I'm not having these sorts of commands on the server.
